Bromma has been awarded major contracts to supply all-electric spreaders for use on automated stacking cranes at two ports.

They comprise orders for 40 GreenLine yard crane spreaders for a new terminal at Terminal Catalunya S.A. in Barcelona, Spain and 34 GreenLine YSX45E yard crane spreaders for the Khalifa Port development inTaweelah, Abu Dhabi, UAE.

At Terminal Catalunya the GreenLine spreaders will be used with one-over-five automated stacking yard cranes at the yard's Muelle Prat container terminal. The first units will be delivered during the third quarter 2011. While this is a new terminal, Bromma has supplied 70 spreader systems to Terminal Catalunya, it says.

The company will also supply 34 GreenLine YSX45E yard crane spreaders to the new Khalifa Port. Bromma spreaders will again be placed on one-over-five automated stacking yard cranes.

"Abu Dhabi is a dynamic, growing port, and we are very pleased that Bromma is part of the Middle East port expansion story," said Vikram Raman, Bromma vice president and commercial director.

Recent Bromma all-electric yard crane spreader sales also include 9 units to Penang Port, Malaysia, 11 to the Port of Beirut, Lebanon and 8 to Ningbo Port, China.
