Scaffolding and industrial services specialist Altrad NSG has achieved the highest 5-Star Award from the British Safety Council.

Deeside, UK-based Altrad NSG was awarded 5 Stars from the BSC following a comprehensive audit of its occupational health and safety system.

As part of its audit, the BSC spent two days at Altrad NSG’s Deeside headquarters and at its operations on the Tata Chemicals site in Northwich.

Howard Satchell, Altrad NSG compliance manager, said: “Every year the BSC raises the bar of expectation and to get into the 5-Star bracket these days you have to be performing well above normal expectations – both in terms of on-site health and safety and individual employees’ personal health and well-being.”

Altrad NSG achieved an overall audited score of 93.23% and also achieved a cumulative score of 90.50% within the safety management indicator areas, equating to a 5-Star rating.

“We are continuing to invest in training across the workforce and have recently completed refresher Asbestos Awareness, Risk Assessment and Manual Handling training courses for the whole of the Altrad NSG workforce," added Mr Satchell.
