D&Ri can announce that further speakers have confirmed their willingness to speak at the 2014 World Demolition Summit in Amsterdam on November 6.

From the USA will come David Mardigian from MCM Corporation, who will speak about a major project the company is currently working on, namely the decommissioning for the former Bethlehem Steel Sparrow Point plant in Maryland. The 2,300 acre site has seen over a 100 years of industrial activity and as such is possibly the largest industrial clean-up currently under way in the country.

Making a welcome return will be Brazil’s Fabio Bruno Pinto, who will revisit the major selective bridge implosion in the heart of Rio de Janeiro. At the 2013 World Demolition Summit, he discussed the theory and planning behind this major project prior to work began. With the majority of the work now completed, he will discuss the reality – did the work go as smoothly as the planning suggested it would?
