Specialized trailer manufacturer, Talbert Manufacturing, has launched a new 65 US ton (59 tonne) spread-axle trailer, the 65SA.

The trailer is fitted with an E2Nitro nitrogen-assisted equalising system, which can be used to change axle configurations so the trailer can be altered to comply with individual state road regulations, the manufacturer said. The system also allows for a 42.4 metre spread between the third and fourth axle. In addition, the system helps distribute weight evenly in each axle grouping. The trailer can be operated in a 70 ton (63 tonne) close-coupled configuration.

The Talbert 65SA has a 1.7 m flip-up gooseneck extension, allowing for a 4.8 m radius, a 9.1 m deck length and a 2.5 m deck width. The trailer is made with heavy-duty T-1, 100,000 psi minimum yield, steel.

Three capacity ratings are available for the trailer, including 65 ton (58 tonne), in 4.5 m, two point rigid load base as a 3 + 2 spread-axle trailer with 9.1 m of deck. Other options include a 65 ton (58 tonne) capacity in a 9.1 m two point rigid load base as a 3+2 spread-axle trailer with the addition of an 2.4 m deck insert (11.5 m overall); and 70 tons (63 tonnes) in a 4.8 m, two point rigid load base as a 4-axle trailer with 9.1 m of deck.
