Chinese crane manufacturer XCMG has completed a load test on the second unit of its 88,000 tonne-metre XGC88000 heavy lift crawler crane.

For the load test, the super heavy lift crawler was configured with 60 metre main boom. It lifted and held suspended a 4,500 tonne test weight for 20 minutes, a company spokesperson said.

The XGC88000 is suitable for use on large projects, such as the construction of nuclear power plants.
