Mi-Jack acquires new facility in Illinois, USA

The new 200,000-square-foot production facility will enhance Mi-Jack’s production capibilities and meet critical capacity needs.

Mi-Jack Products, a leader in producing rubber-tired gantry (RTG) cranes, container handling machinery and related technologies for industrial, intermodal, and port applications, has acquired a new manufacturing facility in Monee, Illinois, USA.

The 200,000-square-foot facility is specifically designed for oversized equipment, making it an ideal way to enhance Mi-Jack’s production capabilities and meet critical capacity needs driven by sustained domestic and international growth, the company said.

According to the Lanco Group, parent company of Mi-Jack, the new facility is expected to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2026. The new facility will handle all assembly of Mi-Jack products.

“This strategic investment underscores our commitment to meet growing customer demand and expands our manufacturing operations here in the United States,” said Bill Lanigan, president of the Lanco Group of Companies.

Monee’s proximity to Mi-Jack’s other Illinois facilities, along with the community’s focus on economic development and industrial growth, further supported the decision, he said.

Mike Lanigan Jr., vice president of sales at Mi-Jack, thanked the Village of Monee and the State of Illinois for their collaboration and support throughout the acquistion process.

Opening soon

The facility is expected to be fully operational in the second quarter of 2026. The new facility will handle all assembly, while the Hazel Crest location will focus on increased welding and fabrication capacity. This expansion will create additional jobs in welding, fabrication, operations and related roles.

“The State of Illinois is committed to fostering long-term economic growth by supporting industries, like manufacturing, that keep our state competitive on a global scale,” said Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Director Kristin Richards. “Mi-Jack Products’ facility will expand economic opportunity while also creating new jobs.”

Mi-Jack Products is headquartered in Hazel Crest, Illinois, producing the Translift and Travelift RTG cranes used on six continents. Mi-Jack maintains multiple regional operations and sales offices worldwide and is part of the Lanco Group of Companies.
