A two-day heavy transport and lifting seminar will be held in Houston, Texas, USA, on 11 and 12 April 2018.

It is being run by Marco van Daal who has run 15 such seminars for 285 participants in the last 12 months. At the same Houston event a year ago van Daal had 24 participants from 13 companies and four countries The eight main topics covered in this year’s seminar will be as follows:

  • · Terminology
  • · Dimensions, weight and forces
  • · Heavy transport
  • · Heavy lifting
  • · Jacking and skidding
  • · Load outs (ro-ro)
  • · Accidents and how to avoid them
  • · Maintenance and inspection.

The final module will be optional, depending on the time available. More than 500 slides and several videos will be used to support the material.

Van Daal said he takes an interactive approach, “This is not a ‘sit and listen’ seminar, it is a highly interactive event where dialogues take place and questions are asked and answered. It will teach every level of an organisation to assess a project and detect potential disasters in the early stages and prevent them from happening,” van Daal said.

The seminar will be at the Sheraton North Houston hotel. An early bird rate, with a 25 % reduction on the normal price, is available until 31 March. For more information or to book, see: http://www.the-works-int.com/agenda/houston1/
