WDS - time and date web

The 12th WDS, including the World Demolition Awards, takes place on Thursday 12 November at 3pm (UK time) and for the first time it will be an online event due to the Covid-19 pandemic forcing the postponement of the two-day event scheduled for Vienna, Austria.

The “virtual” summit will be slightly shorter than that – it will last around two and a half hours – but it will retain the mix of thought-provoking project-based conference presentations and the awards ceremony’s celebration of innovation and best practice that the WDS has become well known for.

Speakers this year are James Milburn, managing principal of US contractor Milburn Demolition; Andrea Gazzola, business development manager of Italian heavy lifting specialist Fagioli; and Angus Holdsworth, managing director of Andun Engineering Consultants in the United Kingdom. There will also be a joint video presentation by Delta Group of Australia and Alford Technologies of the UK.

The event will be hosted by experienced European journalist Alex Taylor.

Once again the event has been organised by Demolition & Recycling International magazine in co-operation with the European Demolition Association and the National Demolition Association of the USA.

Headline sponsor is Volvo Construction Equipment and we are also delighted to welcome Komatsu (break sponsor), awards category sponsors Epiroc and Steelwrist, and supporting sponsors Genesis, Kocurek Excavators, the National Federation of Demolition Contractors and Sennebogen.

The 2019 event in Boston, USA, attracted a record attendance of more than 450 industry professionals, and with no travel necessary to enjoy this year’s WDS, we look forward to you joining us in numbers.
