Mobile crane simulator for training school

The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 721 in Nova Scotia, Canada has a new Vortex mobile crane simulator for its training school. For operator training and use in product design and analysis, the simulator from CMLabs Simulations Inc, in Montreal, offers real-time simulation of vehicle dynamics and collision response and detection.

The unit can be programmed for a range of properties, including torque, rotation, friction, multiple joint types and wind. It runs on platforms that include Microsoft Windows NT, 2000 and XP, Linux RedHat 7.3, 8.0 and 9, and SGI IRIX.
