Visit Bauma China the day after IRC

The massive Bauma China exhibition opens the day after IRC, which means you can combine attendance at the conference with a trip to the largest construction equipment show in Asia.

Bauma China will be held on 27 to 30 November at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre (SNEIC), which is just 15 minutes from the IRC’s venue hotel, the Sheraton Grand Pudong.

The signs are promising for this year’s exhibition. More than 2,200 companies had signed up for the biennial show by early summer 2018, which is 300 more than at the equivalent stage in 2016. These exhibitors include Caterpillar, which is returning to the show having missed the previous two editions.

A key factor in the growth of the show is the improving market conditions in China. Infrastructure investment in the country is expected to drive up earthmoving equipment sales by 31% this year, according to Off-Highway Research. This increase follows a remarkable 81% rise in 2017, and makes China by far the largest construction equipment market in the world.

Other Western OEMs to take part in the show include Liebherr, Volvo, Wirtgen, JLG Industries, Haulotte, Terex Corp, Skyjack and Snorkel, while many of the biggest Chinese manufacturers will also be there.

“The entire area of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre—17 halls and the outdoor area—will again be occupied completely,” said Maritta Lepp, Bauma China Exhibition Director. She anticipates visitor numbers being similar to the 170,000 reported in 2016.
