Pramac-Generac UK’s new rental range

08 February 2019

Pramac-Generac UK has launched a new Mobile Products range comprising lighting towers and generators dedicated to rental at the Executive Hire Show (EHS) 2019 in the UK.

The manufacturer of power and lighting solutions said it intends to support the growing demand for sustainable products, specialist product training and new technologies in rental with this new range.

The compact dimensions of the new V20 Hybrid lighting tower make it more efficient to transport

Customers will have access to equipment from Pramac Portables and Rental, as well as Generac’s Tower Light and Dust Filter (DF) Ecology product ranges.

In lighting, the Generac Tower Light V20 range includes the new V20 Hybrid, which was on display at the EHS. It was introduced as a prototype last year but is now in full production, offering up to 6 hours of continuous lighting on full power, or 21 hours on dimmed lights. The tower’s lithium-ion battery, which was said not to require maintenance, takes just under 2 hours to fully charge from empty and it comes with a five-year warranty.

The battery works in conjunction with a single-cylinder Yanmar L100N engine. The downsizing from the three-cylinder engine that was previously used on a tower of this size has been enabled not just by the addition of the battery but also the use of LED lights.

The V20 Hybrid has a gull-wing canopy that makes for easy access for servicing, and the system can be operated from a single control panel, making it simple for operators to use. Also, its compact dimensions allow more units to be transported in a single journey.

In terms of generators, a new Pramac welfare hybrid generator is available: the P18000 CombHy Welfare. It combines an EU Stage IIIA Yanmar diesel engine with AGM (absorbed glass mat) battery storage and 1.8kWp of solar input for trickle-feeding the battery.

Since the P18000 incorporates a battery, the company said that the run time of the engine can be reduced by up to 50% - with solar panels attached. This helps to extend the service life and service intervals of the generator, as well as reduce fuel consumption.

When running on diesel alone, the generator can deliver 13kW, but with the battery running in parallel it can offer up to 20kW.

As part of the new rental range, customers will also benefit from the support of onsite and virtual training sessions, as well as the option to get advice on industry initiatives such as the ECA (enhanced capital allowance) scheme.

David Oates, Managing Director of Pramac-Generac UK, said, “We are dedicated to helping our customers future-proof their fleets with compact, ecological and hard-working equipment, but also ensure they have access to knowledge share, training and good pricing.”

Referring to the technological advancements and innovations that are occurring in the sector, he added, “Skills and capabilities around managing these next-generation fleets are becoming just as important as the development of new and efficient products. We therefore hope this exclusive range will simplify and help hirers build their business and have access to the latest thinking and innovation.”
