400kW heat-pump chiller from Aggreko

Aggreko has launched a 400kW heat-pump chiller which it claims is one of the highest capacity units available, and says the unit offers “best-in-class” environmental performance.

The company - whose previous largest chiller was 200kW - said the new model was designed for larger projects that require greater capacity, such as in manufacturing, food and beverage sites, and major events.

Agreko’s new 400kW heat-pump chiller.

The heat-pump and chiller are combined under a large canopy, which removes the need for a boiler and also reduces the amount of fuel required. It also reduces the space needed and creates cost-savings through simpler logistics and maintenance.

Aggreko said a key component of the heat-pump chiller is its 4-way valve that reverses the refrigerant flow from the compressor through the condenser and evaporator, allowing the unit to switch between cooling and heating modes.

Danny Quinn, Product Manager, Temperature Control at Aggreko said: “The 400kW heat pump chiller will help to reduce carbon emissions without the need for compromise on cost, space or reliability.

“We look forward to deploying this best-in-class technology to help our customers achieve their targets”.

The launch of this product in Continental Europe comes as Aggreko works to reduce its carbon emissions across all operations by 50% by 2030 and to operate a net-zero business across all services by 2050.
