Boels will received the new Ammann APF 15/40 plate compactor in March 2020

Manufactured by Briggs & Stratton, the Vanguard 200 single-cylinder engines were specially installed into the APF 15/40 compactor model at Boels’ request.

Guy Cremer, Director of Fleet Operations at Boels, said, “Ammann products are a good fit for our rental fleet because they are both easy to operate and durable.

“The new Vanguard-powered plate compactors offer customers an enhanced user experience by way of an easier simplified starting process and lower vibration, while providing powerful compaction.

“Also, the extended service intervals of the engine allow us to reduce our oil waste and recycling.”

The rental company is due to receive the first of the units in March 2020. Ammann will also be delivering a number of its smaller APF 10/33 compactor model to Boels. The number of units ordered has not been disclosed.

The APF 15/40 plate compactor features a maintenance-free high-technology exciter unit and guide handles with vibration protection. It is suitable for soil, asphalt and paving stone compaction.
