In the United States the ratchet lever hoists are branded as CM Tornado 360° and outside the North American market they are available under the Yale brand as the Yale Ergo 360° ratchet lever hoist.

According to the manufacturer, the ratchet lever hoists, which were launched at the end of 2016, are ergonomically designed for increased safety. CM said this enables the operator to be more productive with significantly less effort compared to conventional ratchet lever tools.

The ratchet lever hoists have the Sidewinder lever handle which comprises a 360‐degree rotating lever and a fold‐out revolving handle. These components help the operator reduce the repetitive wrist action experienced with traditional lever hoists, letting them work up to 12 times faster while using a full 360° range of motion, said CM.

The CM Tornado 360° is available in 3/4, 1‐1/2, 3, and 6 US ton capacities with standard lifts up to 20 feet (6 metres). Additional lifts are available. The hoist has a lifetime warranty and is designed to meet the ASME B30.21 standard for manually operated hoists.

“Since the initial launch of the CM Tornado 360° we have continued to look for ways to make this innovative hoist even more versatile for our customers,” said Andre Schon, senior global product manager – manual hoist products. “With the addition of 3 and 6 ton units to our initial 3/4 and 1‐1/2 ton offering, we have rounded out our product portfolio and given customers even more options for their lifting, positioning and pulling applications.”
