Construction and engineering company Surespan Wind Energy Services in Canada has added a Liebherr LG 1750 lattice boom mobile crane to its fleet.

The LG 1750 has already been sent to its first job at the South Kent Wind farm, in Southern Ontario, where Surespan is helping erect 124 Siemens 2.3 MW turbines. The wind farm is a joint venture between Pattern Energy and Samsung.

Ernest Jones, Surespan Wind Energy Services operations manager, said, “The LG 1750 provides us with unparalleled flexibility to move the crane freely through a mixture of project and county roads while minimising rigging and relocation time.

“The service we have received from Liebherr through the acquisition and training process has been second to none and we look forward to building on our success with Liebherr and their team in both North America and Europe.”

Nigel Bester, Surespan chairman, added, “We welcome the LG 1750 crane to our growing fleet and look forward to our Wind Energy Group’s continued growth and success.”
