Mills Rental has ordered a Terex AWP Genie SX–180, which will be the first of its kind in Latin America.

The Brazil-based company will take delivery of the 180 ft boom in August and send it out to work across the country. According to Mills, a big advantage is that it does not need special road permits to transport the 13 m long, 3 m wide machine in stored position, and it can be placed on a standard truck.

“When working over 50 m high, it is common to use cranes to perform certain jobs. The equipment we're bringing in [the SX-180] is the most modern in the world and will bring more security for those who need to work at height. Operators will be able to work together in the basket and not separated as in they are with cranes,” explains Sergio Kariya, director of Mills Rental.

The company added that another advantage of the machine is its 360° continuous rotating platform. Additionally, it comes with joystick controls, with fully proportional Hall effect. The machine’s X-chassis also provides great stability, added Mills.

Mills will provide special training for all operators of the Genie SX-180.
