Kito Europe acquired Erikkila at the end of January 2018

Industrial hoist manufacturer Kito Corporation acquired all the shares of Erikkila OY in Finland at the end of January.

The acquisition was made via the Kito Europe GmbH subsidiary. Erikkila produces light industrial cranes and sells them through a distributor sales network across Europe. The company was started in 1912 and has been making and selling cranes for more than 40 years. Annual sales are €11.7 million (US$ ).

In addition to sales and network advantages, Kito said it will combine the modular Erikkila cranes, which are light, easy to operate and long-lasting, with Kito electric chain hoists, which reduce load swing. Erikkila’s aluminium and steel light crane system will allow Kito to serve growing demand from automotive and other industries. It plans to expand this offer outside Europe, first to Japan and then the USA.
