Two crawler cranes from XCMG were used to lift a thermal regeneration tower tank at the construction site of the Wanhua Industrial Park in Yantai, Shandong Province, China.

A 650 tonne capacity QUY650 and a 260 tonne capacity QUY260 were used to lift the 11C1004 thermal regeneration tower tank. It was 35 metres tall, 5 m wide and weighed 105 tonnes. The QUY650 was used for the main lift and the smaller crane was on tailing duty. The installation process lasted less than an hour.

Challenges during the lift included strong sea winds and heavy equipment, the Chinese manufacturer said.
