Dubai, UAE-based crane rental agency O.Rentals, part of Persian Gulf industrial conglomerate Al Shirawi Group, reports one of its fleet of eight Liebherr HS series duty cycle crawler cranes has reached the operating milestone of 35,000 hours.

O.Rentals’s duty cycle crawler fleet has primarily been used for soil compacting

The company started using its first HS series crawler ten years ago and, according to Liebherr, the fleet has been used hard, primarily for dynamic soil compaction. “We don’t see much clamshell or dragline business orders in this region,” said K.C Pingle, divisional manager at O.Rentals. “We intend to use the cranes as long as they last. The cranes are very reliable. They have served us well. Recent projects have met all performance parameters.”

One high-profile project in O.Rentals’ portfolio is Palm Islands, Dubai where the crawlers carried out soil compaction. Seven of the eight duty cycle crawlers have recently returned from a one-year commission in Mexico.

O.Rentals was founded in 2006 as Dortmund & Hubbard and has been operating under its new name since the reorganization of the Group in 2020.
