Crane manufacturer Manitowoc has withdrawn from participating in next year’s ConExpo trade show in Las Vegas, USA.

ConExpo is due to take place 14 to 18 March 2023, six months after this year’s Bauma construction equipment exhibition running 24 to 30 October 2022 in Munich, Germany. This year’s Bauma, the biggest show in the world, is usually held in April but was postponed to October due to concerns over Covid-19.

Explaining the company’s decision Aaron Ravenscroft, Manitowoc president and chief executive officer, said, “Over the last 18 months, Manitowoc has taken a multitude of actions to manage inflation. Due to the several price increases that we’ve passed on to our customers, we do not believe it’s appropriate to invest in a second large trade show at this time.

“We continue to invest heavily in new products and look forward to showing our latest developments at the upcoming Bauma show in October 2022. As an alternative to ConExpo, we intend to host a Crane Days event at our Shady Grove, Pennsylvania, location at a later date.”
