Manufacturer Max Trailer in Luxembourg has launched a power-steered version of the Max100, a 3 or 4-axle extendable semi-trailer, and the Max200, a 3-axle extendable and non-extendable flat deck semi-trailer.

Previously the trailers had only been available with fixed or friction-steered axles.

“Using a steering wedge on the fifth wheel coupling, the steering angle is transferred hydraulically to the axles,” a company spokesperson said. “Compared to the classical friction-steered version, the power-steered Max Trailer allows better manoeuvrability.”

A small turning radius means loading areas are easier to reach and tyre wear is reduced, the manufacturer said.

The power-steered version of the Max100 has been renamed Max110, while the flat deck semi-trailer has been renamed Max210.
