UK-based Pop-Up Products, working with aluminium access equipment manufacturer Altrex in the Netherlands, has started production on two new aluminium products: MiPod and MiTower.

The MiPod is the first aluminium podium built to comply with the new PAS 250 design safety standard from the Prefabricated Access Suppliers' & Manufacturers' Association (PASMA).

The MiPod 1000 provides a 3 m maximum working height. Measuring 780 mm wide, the MiPod can pass through a standard doorway, while its 1.5 m length means its compact for working in confined spaces.

The use of steel ballast helps prevent side loadings from overturning the platform, said the company. Other safety features include anti-surf castors and saloon-style entry gates.

The MiPod 1500 offers an additional 500 mm of working height. Designed for use in more open areas, it has a wider base for stability, which can be folded in for passing through doorways.

Both models have a 150 kg platform capacity and can be folded down for storage when not in use.

The MiTower range is designed to be transported and erected by one person. It provides working heights of 4 m, 5 m or 6 m and measures 728 mm wide and 1.17 m long. MiTower weighs between 77 kg and 110 kg depending on platform height. Platform capacity is 150 kg. The tower’s base forms a trolley in which to store and move all the other components.
