The key new product on SDMO’s Bauma stand will be the new R1650C containerized generator, with a 1650 kVA output and fitted inside a 20 ft container that is just 2.6 m high, which compares to the previous 40 ft, 3 m high unit sold by the company.

The important feature of the genset is a new cooling system that allows for a compact footprint: that same cooling system design also reduces noise output – at European ambient temperatures the noise will be between 83 and 85 db(A). The set is powered by a MTU 12V 4000 engine.

The company will also show off its now complete Rental Compact range of generators, comprising 12 sets in the 22 to 550 kVA range, and all certified to Stage IIIA engine emission limits. With that range now complete SDMO is embarking on a project to develop versions of the Compact range for use in the Middle East, Africa and Russia, with the modified range available by June this year.

Finally, SDMO will demonstrate its new Telys genset synchronisation option, which the company said has been designed to be very easy to operate, with just two operating controls, one to synchronise and one to stop sychronisation.
