Speedy relaunches four-hour delivery promise

09 September 2020

Speedy Hire has relaunched an enhanced version of its four-hour delivery promise across the UK and Ireland, with a wider range of products available, after the scheme was paused in March to focus on supporting the NHS during the initial stages of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Capital Commitment 4-Hour 350 Products - Sep20 (2)

Speedy’s four-hour delivery promise now applies to 350 rental products

The commitment to deliver nationwide within four hours now applies to 350 products.

Access and lifting products, compressors, generators, hand tools, survey, and lighting equipment have been added to the service. This includes zero and low-emission lighting towers.

Equipment is delivered from Speedy’s network of 200 depots across England, Wales, Scotland and parts of Northern and Southern Ireland.

If Speedy fails to meet its delivery promise, customers are given one week of free rental on the product.

By expanding the service, which originally offered same day delivery for 52 of its most popular products, Speeds says it intends to meet changing customer demands and support the market as the economy recovers.

Russell Down, Chief Executive of Speedy, said, “We’ve seen demand for our products and services grow since sites re-opened following lockdown, and the new project pipeline is continuing to build.

“Before the Covid-19 pandemic, thousands of our customers across the UK relied on our four-hour delivery promise to ensure they could keep projects on track. Now more than ever, product delivery and collection are critical capabilities that the industry needs in its supply chain, as projects demand tools and equipment quickly and at short notice.”

The scheme began in May 2018 with the offer of same day delivery on rental orders placed before 3pm. In January, 2020, Speedy updated it to a four-hour delivery promise.
