US-based Trimble, which manufactures surveying and geographical measurement tools, has announced that Zhengzhou Yutong Heavy Industries has become the first Chinese-based manufacturer to take part in its Trimble Ready program for dynamic compaction applications.

As part of the program, Trimble and Yutong intend to work together to integrate the Trimble DPS900 Machine Control System onto Yutong dynamic compaction machines.

Said to be an exciting new solution for civil construction, with its real-time navigation, the Trimble DPS900 system allows operators to use the in-cab display to position the machine at a precise compaction point, while the number of drops and total displacement at each point are automatically recorded.

In this way, the system is meant to give the operator greater control of the equipment, thereby increasing productivity, avoiding rework and reducing the number of on-site construction workers needed, at the same time as offering improved quality and safety.

“We understand the importance of technical innovation,” said Guo Xudong, general manager of Yutong Heavy Industries, adding, “We believe that the Trimble DPS900 Machine Control System will allow us to profoundly transform the way dynamic compaction is done.”
