Unic mini crane lifts boat

GGR Group used a Unic mini crane to help carry out maintenance work at the Anderton Boat Lift in Northwich, Cheshire, UK.
The Anderton Boat Lift opened in 1875 and is used to carry boats through a 15 metre change in level between the Trent & Mersey Canal and the River Weaver. It was designed by Edward Leader-Williams and works by using water-filled hydraulic rams to carry vessels up and down, a spokesperson said.
For the project, the 995 kg capacity Unic URW-095 mini spider crane lifted stop planks weighing 90 kg and measuring 5 m long into position to help drain the basin, ready for inspections and maintenance work. Once the maintenance had been carried out the mini crane was used to remove the planks.
