Zurich-headquartered global technology company ABB recently announced a formal move into the construction arena.

The company, which has built robots for manufacturing and the automotive industry for years, sees construction as a prime market for its products – hardly surprising given the industry’s negligible rate of productivity growth over the past 20 years.

Andrea Cassoni, managing director of the industry business line at ABB’s Robotics and Discrete Automation division, spoke to Construction Europe’s editor, Mike Hayes, about the company’s plans.
