French contractor Vinci has moved its specialist site investigation and grouting division, Soil Engineering, into its UK geotechnical arm Bachy Soletanche.

Vinci said the services provided by Soil Engineering complemented the specialist civil engineering and foundation activities of Bachy Soletanche, which specialises in modern geotechnics and foundation design, including piling, diaphragm walls, tunnelling and grouting.

Established in 1963, Soil Engineering operates throughout the UK, employing over 175 staff, with an annual turnover of around £15 million (€18 million).

Soil Engineering will operate as a new limited company, Soil Engineering Geoservices, under the ownership of the Bachy Soletanche group.
