Tube and fitting scaffolding in use on the Jetavana Stupa – at over 360 feet in height the tallest in the world. The scaffolding was erected to allow extensive excavation and restoration work on the structure to be carried out. It is believed to be the biggest brick built structure in the world. Built in the 3rd century AD by King Mahase as a Budhist shrine, it is thought to contain a sash belt tied by Buddha.
