This special ‘Construction' version of the HR18 was shown by Niftylift at the Access Daze event in the UK in May. The HR18 Construction is based on the HR18 Rail model, but with the rail bogies removed. It has a big, 300 kg capacity cage, 10 m outreach, high ground clearance and large Trelleborg SK-900 tires. The company is also developing a new bi-energy (diesel and battery) version of its HR21 articulated boom, aimed at indoor industrial and commercial applications. It will be 2WD only, and a Niftylift spokesman said it will be a “true” bi-energy in that performance will be the same whatever the power source used. The bi-energy system will eventually be used as a platform for similar versions of its 15 m and 17 m booms.
