Andy Wright, former CEO of Sunbelt Rentals UK has joined Coventry-based power specialist Vital Power Group.

Wright, who joins the company as its executive chair, has spent the last five years with Sunbelt, initially joining as COO before taking the role of CEO in February 2020.

During his time with the company, he oversaw its transition from A-Plant to Sunbelt Rentals following the rebrand of its UK operations.

Upon the announcement that he would step aside, Brendan Horgan, Group CEO at Sunbelt Rentals said in February that the company is “a better business today as a direct result of his ambition and efforts.”

IRN columnist Wright said on a LinkedIn post that he is excited to take up the new role; “I’m now really excited to be taking on the chair role at Vital Power Group, a business which has seen extraordinary growth over the last few years, a business that’s also full of great people and a business that’s at the forefront of the critical power, clean energy transition.

“It’s an exciting time and I’m looking forward to making a difference and supporting the team to reach new heights.”

Founded in 2016, Vital Power provides generator sales and rental throughout the UK. As well as its HQ in Coventry, it has a national operations centre based in Chester that acts as a hub for operational activity.
