Italian company Barin has delivered its second truck mounted AP 60/30 to Australia. The machine has been purchased by Ace Tree Management, based in Victoria and will be used primarily for tree surgery.

The AP range of platforms are mounted on trucks with between two and five axles and have working heights between 44 and 90 m (144 and 295 ft). This 60/30 model is mounted on a four-axle Scania P380 truck chassis and offers a maximum working height of 60 m (197 ft) and a 30 m (98 ft) maximum outreach.

Ace Tree Management was attracted by the stable structure, rigidity of the elements and the smooth telescoping and rotating motion of the machine. The work platforms have safe working loads of between 280 and 440 kg (616 and 968 lb) and rotate around a vertical axis +/-1600.

Although the main application of the AP 60/30 is tree surgery Ace Tree Management will employ the machine in a range of other tasks such as bridge inspection.
