An 800 tonne capacity Liebherr LR 1800 lattice boom crawler crane up for auction in the US was bought by Bigge Crane & Rigging.

It sold for $3.7 million on 28 April at a Ritchie Bros auction in Rio Vista, California. Commenting on the price, Denis Prevost, vice president of Ritchie Bros, said the crane went for exactly what it was worth. “Prior to anything selling, we don't know the market price. The bidders determined this crane was worth $3.7 million.”

Prevost said the crane was the largest ever sold at a Ritchie Brosflauction and it also was the highest priced crane ever sold by the company.
