The Swedish rental market is showing some promising signs, with two major rental players in the country – Ramirent and Renta – recently ordering almost 100 new Bobcat machines in total.

Ramirent’s order was said to be the largest ever secured by Bobcat in the Swedish market, although exact figures are undisclosed.

The units, which include mini-excavators from 1 to 8.5 tonnes and a range of compact loaders, were sold by Bobcat’s Swedish dealer Bobcat Sverige AB, based in Kristianstad.

Göran Andersson, CEO of Bobcat Sverige, said, “The Swedish market is looking relatively bright – even in coronavirus times – with many cautiously looking forward again.

“The recent uncertainty in the market has been good for rental businesses as companies tend to hire more equipment under these circumstances.”

The new machines are being delivered to Ramirent and Renta on a continuous basis.

Andersson said, “Deliveries of the new Bobcat machines started in the second quarter and are taking place at rental depots throughout the country.”

Johan Bursell, District Manager for the Nordics and Baltics region for Doosan Bobcat EMEA, said, “The excellent performance of the Bobcat equipment already in the rental fleets at Ramirent and Renta was an important factor in winning these orders.”

Ramirent was acquired by Loxam in 2019 and currently has 74 depots across Sweden, from Trelleborg in the south to Kiruna in the north.

The Swedish operations are part of a large network run by Ramirent in nine countries in Northern and Eastern Europe, employing approximately 3,200 staff and comprising around 300 depots.

Meanwhile, Renta Sverige AB has approximately 41 depots across Sweden. It is part of Finnish rental business Renta Group Oy, which has a network of 80 depots across Sweden, Finland, Norway and Poland.
