One of Europe’s leading plant hire companies is investing more than £11 million (€15.5 million) in its rental fleet after placing a major order with JCB.

Netherlands-based Boels Rental signed the deal for 250 JCB machines including telescopic handlers, wheeled loading shovels and wheeled excavators.

It is the fourth major order in four years that the company has awarded to JCB and means it now has more than 1,300 JCB machines operating across Europe.

The telescopic handlers have lift capacities of 2.5 to four tonnes and are made at JCB’s World HQ in Rocester, UK; the JCB 411 and 427 wheeled loading shovels are manufactured at JCB Earthmovers in Cheadle and the JS145W and JS175W wheeled excavators are produced at JCB Heavy Products in Uttoxeter.

All the machines are being supplied with JCB’s LiveLink telematics system, which monitors service requirements and protects them from theft.

Boels, based in the Maastricht region, has more than 335 outlets and operates from more than 1800 rental locations in hardware stores in nine European countries.
