Bomag – which is part of the Fayat group – will be exhibiting its entire portfolio of compaction equipment for soils, asphalt and refuse in its 2,000m2 display area.

The company will also be exhibiting its range of stabilisers/recyclers, planers and pavers.

New models at Intermat will include the RS 500 stabiliser/roller, with its new milling rotor, which can be moved beyond the wheel edge. This was said to allow the machine to work up to the outermost edge of a road carriageway while remaining safe to manoeuvre.

The new generation compact BW 124-5 single-drum roller will also be shown. It features a smooth or padfoot drum, travel lever operation for the optional dozer blade, and an engine unit that complies with EU Stage IV.

The company will be dedicating a section of its stand – the Digital Corner – to the topic of digitalisation. Here, Bomag will be presenting its new Tango4 technology for tandem rollers with pivot steering, as part of the company’s 360° technology concept.

For the first time, oscillation has been combined with a split drum, Bomag said. Tango4 has been designed to provide sensitive compaction where needed and offer higher-quality compaction on bends as a result of lower shearing forces.

In the Digital Corner, visitors will be able to use virtual and augmented reality to see how the company’s Asphalt Manager, Vibration and TanGo compaction techniques work.

They will also be able to take a closer look at Magmalife, for screed heating; Variocontrol, for the automatic control of the transfer of power on a single drum; and Economizer, which helps to ensure the desired results are achieved on soil and asphalt with vibratory plates, trench compactors, single-drum rollers and asphalt rollers.

In addition, Bomag will be launching its Digital Field Service, which puts networking information from highly automated machines into practical use. Through an augmented reality headset, Bomag will be providing visitors with an experience of the way in which smart service concepts simplify the servicing, maintenance and repair of construction equipment.

Another Fayat company, asphalt plant manufacturer Marini-Ermont, will be presenting its new addition to the Roadmaster range, the RM 120 ALLROAD production plant.
