Boskalis takes stake in Fugro

Boskalis Westminster has acquired a 15% stake in geotechnical surveyor Fugro. However, it has ruled-out making a bid to fully acquire the company.

Boskalis CEO Peter Berdowski said, "Fugro is an attractive company with activities that fit together well with those of Boskalis. For many years, we have worked together on numerous projects throughout the world and there are strong similarities in the working environment and culture. We would like to speak and explore with the management of Fugro possibilities for cooperation. We support the recently realigned strategy of Fugro, and do not intend to make an offer."

A statement added that Boskalis’ focus on offshore and maritime infrastructure fits with Fugro, which describes itself as, “The world’s largest integrator of geotechnical, survey, subsea and geosciences services.
