The Case 836C grader

Case Construction Equipment is launching a new range of wheeled loaders at the Intermat show in Paris this week, as well as expanding its range of skid steer and compact loaders, and introducing the first grader to be branded with the Case name in Europe.

It is also bringing its SiteControl and SiteWatch technologies together under the name Case SiteSolutions.

Vice president for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) Andy Blandford said that the company was investing in the future and spending $1 billion (€932 million) in research and development.

Case said its new range of wheeled loaders generated less emissions in six months than a 1996 loader in a single day.

The F Series features a rear-mounted engine and the Proshift 5-speed transmission. It complies with EU Stage IV/Tier 4 Final regulations using Hi-eSCR technology developed by FPT Industrial, Case’s sister company. It uses the SCR (selective catalytic reduction) technique introduced by FPT on trucks in 2004 and on Case wheeled loaders in 2011. It does not require a particulate filter or EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve.

Case said the design only used built-for-life-components and was maintenance free and fuel efficient.

Skid steer

Case has expanded its skid steer loader and compact track loader line-up with four new models, and has upgraded one model, further increasing its performance and introducing Tier 4 Final technology.

With the new additions, the range now counts nine skid steer loaders and four compact track loaders. All five models feature 3.4 litre turbo engines and the maintenance-free Tier 4 Final solution developed by FPT Industrial. They require no additional fluids or particulate filter, and the engine is described as highly efficient, with low fuel consumption to cut operating costs further.

It added that higher torque and breakout force resulted in faster cycle times and consequently higher productivity. Both standard and high flow configurations are said to deliver higher hydraulic flow for faster moving attachments.

Three models are entirely new to the line-up. The SR240 is a large frame skid steer loader which is claimed to excel in its torque and breakout force ratings. The new vertical lift skid steer loader model, the SV280, delivers a dump height of 2,630mm. The new radial lift compact track loader TR310 is also a new model, claiming powerful bucket breakout force and operating capacity. It comes with wider, 400mm tracks that are said to ensure more flotation, stability and traction.

Case’s new C series grader is described as the culmination of more than 30 years of development from Frisch, Faun, then O&K, and now Case. It is Case’s first European grader range.

Also featuring the Hi-eSCR technology, the C series graders are said to offer less complexity than other machines, leading to reliability, durability and ease of maintenance.

The 13 tonne model is available with 24in (610mm) tyres independently of the choice of transmission. The load sensing hydraulic system’s pressure compensation allows simultaneous movement, which Case said was key to the grader’s controllability.

The C series graders can be ordered factory ready for all the most common blade control brands, said Case.

Telematics

Case SiteSolutions will now encompass all the company’s services and technologies designed to complement the brand’s equipment to help customers manage their job sites and construction activities efficiently.

Case SiteSolutions currently includes the CaseSiteControl machine control solutions and Case SiteWatch telematics. Case said it would continue to improve, upgrade and expand these services, starting with the extension of the factory-ready machine control offering for graders and dozers, as well as the improvements and global satellite coverage for its telematics solutions.

Following an agreement with Leica Geosystems signed in April 2014, Case dozers and now graders are available with factory ready Leica control systems, which are available through the Parts network. This means that Case dozers and graders are all factory ready for CaseSiteControl solutions with Topcon, Trimble and Leica Geosystems.
