Cat extends wheel loader line

10 April 2008

Cat has introduced the 938H wheel loader and the IT38H integrated tool carrier into the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) region. Both are powered by the company's C-6.6 ACERT diesel that has a net power of 138 kW (193 hp). This new engine, along with a new differential lock system, load sensing hydraulics and increased lift and tilt forces deliver high performance while limiting engine emissions to comply with EU Stage IIIA regulations.

Both machines have new features that are designed to aid health monitoring and servicing. An in-cab Messenger display provides real time machine performance, engine and diagnostic data to help maximise productivity and component life. Hydraulic and electrical service points are grouped together to minimise service downtime. Cat Product Link, which provides two-way information flow between the machine and Cat dealers, is standard on both machines.

The 983H weighs in at 10,167 kg (22,367 lb) while the IT38H comes in a bit heavier, at 16,334 kg (35,935 lb).
