The new Cat Rental Store in Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso. It is the first Cat Rental Store in West Africa.

The first Cat Rental Store in Western Africa is now up and running in Burkina Faso operated by local Caterpillar dealer Burkina Equipements.

Located in the country's capital city, Ouagadougou, the store opened in May after a year of preparation and staff training. The opening is the culmination of 11 years of rental activity by the dealer in the country.

The store rents wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, track-type tractors, motor graders, compactors and allied equipment in the local area and also to mining operations located up to 450 kilometers away.

"The idea of opening a Cat Rental Store is a natural and logical continuation of rental activities we have had since 1998", said Bernard Ballion, the director of Burkina Equipements.

"During the past years we have learnt to manage the rental business in demanding conditions; our partners and customers have also had to learn to trust us. The machine fleet has evolved and grown over the years; consisting today of approximately one hundred machines", he said.

To create the Cat Rental Store, the company had to transform the existing rental operation with the introduction of new signage and further training of salesmen, operators and mechanics on the wider product line offered.

The rental operation now employs approximately 50 people work, including four permanently stationed at the store.

"Today, through our Cat Rental Store, we can propose our customers operating in Burkina Faso a complete range of solutions for their equipment needs", said Mr Ballion.
