Caterpillar has introduced its third new generation material handler in the form of the 37.6 tonne MH3037 that features Cat’s patented ‘ground entry and exit’ step in cab that lowers to the front or the side of the machine that is intended to enhance convenience and safety for both operators and service personnel.

Power for the new machine comes from a Cat ACERT C7 diesel that delivers 168 kW (225 hp) and features an electronically controlled, mechanically actuated, unit-injector fuel system that uses multiple-injection fuel delivery to provide optimum power and economy across all applications.

According to the company, its new material handlers are purpose built to work productively and durably in industrial scrap recycling, millyard and waterway applications. Along with a 8.8 m (29 ft) boom, the MH3037 can be equipped with a short 6m (9.6 ft) or long 7.2 m (23.5 ft) front configuration to allow the machine to be tailored to the application.
