Cement producer Cemex is part of a consortium supplying ready-mix concrete to Malaysia’s largest infrastructure project, the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system.

The consortium will supply a total of 550,000 m3 of ready-mixed concrete for the first phase of construction. The first line of the project is the Sungai Buloh – Kajang Line, comprising 31 stations, including seven underground stations covering a span of 51 km across the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

Cemex is working together with its customer, MMC-Gamuda KVMRT (T) Sdn Bhd, to supply the ready-mixed product. Already, Cemex has supplied 90,000 m3 of ready-mixed concrete to complete the foundations for six of the seven underground stations at KL Sentral, Cochrane, Merdeka, Pasar Seni, Pasar Rakyat and Maluri.
