Lifting and safety equipment distributor Certex UK is launching its own range of slings at the company's new manufacturing facility in Montrose, Scotland.

The Quic-Slings are the first wire rope slings on the market to fully comply with the latest European standard (EN 13414-1), says Certex.

The facility was set up this year to enhance Certex's range of services to the offshore market and will be run in conjunction with the company's regional centre in Aberdeen.

"We have worked hard to recruit the services of very experienced local personnel, who have been making wire rope sling assemblies in the area for many years." said Davy Young Certex regional business manager. "Add to that our excellent supply partnerships with major and global manufacturers of wire ropes and fittings and we are able to produce an unparalleled range of products."

As well as manufacturing its own brand of Flemish Eye and steel ferrule slings, the Montrose facility will also produce wire rope slings by Talurit, socket terminations by Resin Pack; 2, 3, 4 and 5 leg wire rope slings, pennants and crane wires.
