Chicago Pneumatic is introducing its Red Hawk Road gas (petrol) powered breaker to the North American market and will show the product at Conexpo-Con/Agg.

First launched in Europe in 2009, the gas (petrol) driven breaker features a powerful breaking force, is easy portable, and offers minimum vibration and maximum production for construction, demolition and road building applications.

Offering the same power-to-weight ratio as pneumatic or hydraulic breakers without any power source or hoses, the Red Hawk Road delivers a breaking force of 60 joules.

“The Red Hawk Road is the toughest breaker in the Chicago Pneumatic line-up and can be utilized for everything from driving and compacting to cutting and breaking,” said Gus Armbruster, product manager, handheld tools at Chicago Pneumatic.

“Delivering more power means increased efficiency and allows workers to be more productive on the jobsite while still maintaining a comfortable level of operation.”

The lightweight unit, which weighs 55 pounds (25 kg), has a full speed impact rate of 1440 blows per minute (bpm) and operates with a guaranteed sound power level of 109 dBA. The hand-arm vibration value of the Red Hawk is 4.3 m per second (m/s2).

Other design elements include a fan-driven cooling system, a recoil starter with a decompression valve, a redesigned tank cap, and electronic ignition for easy start-up in any type of weather.
