Chunjo Construction adds 50 Groves

South Korea-based Chunjo Construction has ordered 50 new Grove RT770E rough terrain cranes to add to its rental fleet.

The 65 tonne capacity RT770E rough terrain crane was launched at the ConExpo show in Las Vegas earlier this month. It has a five-section, full-power 42 metre boom and an 8 x 3.33 m chassis for easy transportation. In addition, it can be fitted with a 10.1 to 17.1 m bi-fold swingaway to increase the reach by 59.1 m and extend working radius to 43.9 m, the manufacturer added.

The new cranes in Chunjo’s fleet will be used on engineering and construction projects in South Korea and elsewhere around the world, a company spokesperson said.

Jang Hwan Chang, Chunjo president, said, “The Grove RT770E is a new market leader and its versatility makes it perfect for many jobs. Updating our fleet with the latest crane models reduces maintenance costs, fuel costs and down time, so we can offer very competitive rental rates and win more contracts.

“We have already sold 50 older Grove cranes from our fleet and we had no problems selling them.”

The order was placed during the ConExpo exhibition, which was held in Las Vegas, USA, in March.

Seven of the RT770Es will be delivered to Chunjo in April. The remaining 43 units will be delivered over the course of 2014. The new cranes will join 68 Grove rough terrain cranes already in Chunjo’s fleet.
