German crane manufacturer Liebherr has opened up a sales and service centre in Bogotá, Colombia.

The centre will be used to help improve the range of services for mobile and crawler cranes in South America, the manufacturer said. The centre will also be used to provide service support in Ecuador.

The new location is operated by Liebherr Colombia SAS, which was founded in October 2011. The company’s head office employs around 50 people and is in Barranquilla. As well as providing service, the centre also sells mobile cranes for ports and harbours.

This new location also offers a local spare parts warehouse and four trained local service engineers, a spokesperson said.
