His Excellency Majed Al Mansouri, chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipal affairs, gives the chairman’s address at the Investment and Innovation in Construction Summit Abu Dhabi.

The Ministry of Public Works (MOPW) and the Department of Municipal Affairs in Abu Dhabi (DMA) has launched the first Investment and Innovation in Construction Summit at the Intermat Middle East exhibition, which is taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, between October 8 and 10.

The two-day summit - held on the first two days of the show - will cover infrastructure and construction investments in both the public and private sectors.

His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan inaugurated both the conference and the second annual Intermat Middle East exhibition. The chairman's address to the conference was made by His Excellency Majed Ali Al Mansouri, chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs during which he outlined the Emirate's vision of building a sustainable economy by 2030.

Maryvonne Lanoë, Intermat Exhibition Director, said, "The MOPW and DMA have both shown a significant amount of support for Intermat Middle East. The Investment and Innovation in the Construction Summit will focus on a variety of topics including investments, asset management, regulations, design, materials, quality assurance, innovation and fire safety.

Confirmed speakers for the two-day conference include Eng. Asdam Mohammed Al-Ghazawy, Sr project manager for the MOPW; Matthew Plumbridge, environmental & sustainability planning consultant for the DMA; Eng. Nicholas Wellwood, integrated infrastructure planning advisor for the DMA; Salem Al Qassimi, senior specialist of product conformity for Abu Dhabi Quality Conformity Council UAE, and Eng. Yousuf Abdulla Ali Abdulla, deputy director of the Southern Zone at the UAE Ministry of Public Works, among others.
