A new 13 tonne capacity Kato CR-130Ri wheeled mobile telescopic crane has been acquired by Crowborough, UK-based Coppard Plant Hire.

It was supplied by European Kato distributor Rivertek Services. Coppard has more than 50 spider cranes, pick and carry, crawler and tower cranes, plus a wide range of general construction equipment at its four depots.

Keaten Coppard at Coppard Plant said, “We have been in the plant hire business for nearly 50 years and are continually looking to add to our range of plant. The Kato city crane is a natural progression for our crane fleet with its 24 metre main boom and 5.5 metre fly jib, not to mention outrigger length sensors for variable outrigger situations. It’s a brand famous for its reliability and at Coppard Plant we pride ourselves on having the best equipment on the market for our loyal customers.”

Commenting on Coppard’s choice, Ivan Bolster at Rivertek Services said, “We have seen a strong increase in interest from spider crane hire companies in the Kato city crane but especially the Kato CR-130Ri. It is a crane that fits easily into a spider crane hire fleet and because it is self propelled there is no requirement to truck it from job to job like a spider crane so it cuts down on costs. It is a very compact and versatile crane and we are delighted to deliver this unit to Coppard Plant and look forward to supporting them in the future.”
