Sales of late model cranes were the highlights at a Ritchie Bros. second unreserved auction in Dubai last week.
During the three-day auction, more than 2,000 equipment items and trucks were sold to more than 600 onsite and online bidders from 49 countries, said the auction company.
Among them were five late model Manitowoc crawler cranes, including two 300 tonne capacity Model 2550s, and a late model Terex Comedil tower crane. One of the Manitowocs and the Terex Comedil were purchased from India.
"Our auctions in Dubai broke many records last year and our performance continues to be very strong this year," said Guylain Turgeon, Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers managing director and senior vice president EMEA.
"We are working off that momentum still; recent Dubai auctions continue to draw very large and diverse crowds of global bidders in need of equipment that they can immediately put to work. This recent auction attracted onsite and online bidders from throughout the Middle East and as far away as Europe, India and Africa," Turgeon added.
