Date confirmed for second Istanbul demolition conference

19 June 2014

After a postponement that resulted from the Turkish election held in March and the subsequent delay in the development and issuance of government legislation covering the demolition industry in that country, we can now announce the date for the next Demolition Conference Turkiye, organised jointly by D&Ri publisher KHL and its Turkish partner, Apa Yayincilik.

The event will now be held on Thursday March 12, 2015, once again at the Marriot Asia Hotel in Istanbul on the Asian side of the Bosphorus. The event, primarily intended for the developing Turkish demolition industry, will once again see a mix of presentations from relevant speakers from that country as well as from a number of leading figures in the global demolition industry.

The Turkish content will include a presentation from a representative from the Turkish ministry responsible for the drafting of the new regulations and two from the Turkish Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association, IMDER, and the Turkish Demolition Association, respectively. The Turkish content will be rounded off with a case study covering one of the most high profile and challenging demolition projects carried out in the country in recent months.

International speakers will cover a number of topics that are certain to be of interest to the nascent Turkish demolition industry. These will include a review of the last word in modern demolition equipment, an outline of the planning process and documentation requirements involved in delivering a successful demolition project from initial studies through to completion, how to ensure safety on site during demolition work and finally, a study on best practice in recycling the waste that results from a typical demolition project.

Full speaker details and timings will be released in due course.
